On this episode of Bounty Board Caleb got the chance to talk to Videogame and Film Composer Jon Everist (Battletech, Shadowrun, Disintegration). Together they talk about creating music, how the tools for creation have evolved in the last ten years, and the merit of putting yourself in a box so you come up with unique solutions. Also, of course, they talk about food, and Jon gives a great answer to how he would incorporate music into his food game.

It's been a long 10 years since Caleb started this website and started writing about videogames seriously. There have been victories and failures, lulls and peaks, but nevertheless, he persists. Back in college, when proposing a senior thesis, Caleb was batted down by a few professors who couldn't manage to see a way that videogames could be important.

A few weeks ago I had the honor of having the third and final co-host of The Habibi's Podcast, Fawzi Mesmar, on Bounty Board! Fawzi is currently the Vice President of Editorial at Ubisoft but has been a consummate globe trotter up to this point, working at studios from Australia to Japan to Germany! Together Fawzi and I talk about a sampler platter of topics, from teaching students, hunting for the source of creativity, making games in today's industry, to the most appropriate conversation ever: Our shared love for Ramen.

Happy Friday folks! I had the absolute honor to sit and chat with Osama Dorias, Senior Game Designer at Warner Bros. Interactive on Gotham Knights, co-host of The Habibis podcast, and overall just delightful human being. Osama had mentioned on Twitter a few weeks ago that he wasn't sure how he was going to pick his favorite game of 2021, so I offered to have him on so we could work through it. And so we did!

Happy Tuesday everyone! Caleb recorded this episode with Richard a little more than a week ago and just never got to uploading it…so that’s a thing. But this conversation was a blast. Richard and Caleb have been friends for years (coworkers once), and they sit down to talk about something that both are excited about: The Future of Esports. There is a lot of potential for Esports to catapult into the general viewing population, but it isn’t quite there yet. Caleb and Richard discuss why, what they think could help games make their way into sports bars, and when they think we will start to see that happen.

Remember that podcast from a little over a month ago where Caleb talked about life and mental health and personal pursuits? Yeah, this is another one of those. Caleb is still trying to figure some things out, personally, but wanted to record another one on one episode to let you know where his head is.

With E3 looming on the horizon, Caleb thought it was a good idea to finally sit down and record another episode of Bounty Board. The last few months have been kinda tough and he wanted to let people in on what has been going on, his plans for future Bounty Board stuff, and also to catch you up on what he’s been playing.
