Episode 115: Politics in Games
Happy Friday! Everyone has seen the comment on Twitter, “Keep politics out of games.” But what does that even mean, really? What qualifies as “politics”? It is a question with nearly as many answers as their are days in a month, but nevertheless the crew sits down to talk through politics in games. Sometimes we think it is needed, sometimes it’s unnecessary, sometimes it’s done really poorly. Regardless, we are all able to acknowledge that games have been political since the beginning, and that it seems recent that people began to take umbrage with that fact.

From Mario Kart to Forza, Crash Team Racing to Project Gotham Racing, Need for Speed to Gran Turismo, racing games have been around as long as gaming has, it seems. Listen along as the Crew reminds themselves of the first racing game they played, praises their favorites, and chuckles at some of the blunders.

Caleb talks about trying to get out of Hades, Tech touts Apex’s most recent LTE as one of their best ever, Sarge is getting into some drift games, and everyone gushes about how good Star Wars: Squadrons is. Like…it’s really good folks!
